The Haeden Museum, established on May 11, 2013, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. To mark this occasion, we have prepared an exhibition that reexamines the works of Marc Chagall, which received the greatest love among all the exhibitions held at the Haeden Museum.
'École de Paris' refers to foreign artists residing in Paris. Marc Chagall (1887-1985) expressed himself with dreamlike colors and a free composition of the canvas. In his works, one can find not only the spirit of early 20th-century modernist art but also the depth of Russian artistic tradition and Jewish mysticism.
Chagall, who left his homeland of Vitebsk, found a second home in Paris, concluded his later years in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, and, against the backdrop of the warm landscapes of the Mediterranean that he loved, mysteriously portrayed universal human emotions by encompassing deeply personal memories, religion, mythology, and literary themes with beautiful colors and fantastical compositions.
In the exhibition titled "Marc Chagall, Spreading Dreamy Wings," consisting of four original paintings, over 54 original prints, and two rare illustrated books, you will discover the warm perspective of the artist Chagall, who loved life. We hope you encounter Chagall's world unfolding beautifully in the radiant spring light.
