The term 'Pop Art,' which referred to art strategically utilizing images from popular culture and mass-produced consumer goods since the mid-20th century, has become a widely recognized concept transcending time and regions. However, within contemporary art, the diverse statements and artistic personalities created by individual artists with unique perspectives are not easily generalized by the term 'Pop Art.'
The artists featured in this exhibition capture ordinary daily life with a unique sensibility, express critical statements and political beliefs with wit, or depict the point where the boundaries between capital and art, commodity and artwork disappear, embodying the sophisticated and aesthetic colors and designs pursued by material culture.
The "Pop Art" exhibition introduces several works by renowned artists such as Jeff Koons, Yoshitomo Nara, Julian Opie, and Robert Indiana from the Haeden Museum's collection. Additionally, it includes works by famous artists like Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Indiana, David Hockney, Tom Wesselmann, Valerio Adami, showcasing diverse trends in Pop Art from various regions, including the Anglophone world, Europe, and Asia.
